Our Mission

The Michael Burke Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charity (EIN: 82-2654330) founded with the hopes of continuing Big Mike's legacy and keeping his memory alive.  Our goal is to benefit cancer patients and help their families with the myriad of unexpected costs that arise with serious illness.  Unfortunately, the truth is we will always know someone who needs help while battling cancer.  

An Update for 2024:

Since 2019, the Michael Burke Foundation raised over $250,000 and has distributed over $220,000 to 140 families!!! In 2023, the fund has distributed $70,000 to 35 different families. Funds received by the foundation are appropriated directly to cancer patients to help them and their families with the myriad of unexpected costs that arise with serious illness. 

We are truly grateful for your ongoing support throughout the years. The foundation’s annual event started with a small potluck down the Boston Harbor Yacht Club and has since grown to a 500+ person walk and pig roast. Be on the lookout for tickets to the 2024 walk which will be held on September 15 at the BHYC.
